Pyramind of Tirana

The Pyramid of Tirana (Albanian: Piramida) is a former museum and structure in Tirana, Albania. Opened as a museum in 1988, it became a conference center in 1991 after the collapse of Communism. During the 1999 Kosovo War, it served as a NATO base. In 2018, a project was announced to turn it into the TUMO Center, an IT hub for youth focusing on programming, robotics, and startups.

Built in 1988 to be a museum for Communist dictator Enver Hoxha, who died in 1985, the pyramid was constructed by his daughter and her husband, costing the most in Albanian history. It was transformed into a conference center in 1991, later serving as a nightclub (Mumja), a NATO base, and the headquarters of organizations and a TV station.
