Presidential Office Building
The Presidential Office (Albanian: Presidenca) houses the Office of the President of Albania and is the main workplace of the President. It includes the immediate staff and support staff reporting to the president, and is located in Tirana.
Originally, the Presidential Office Building was built to house the Soviet Embassy to Albania until 1961, when diplomatic relations ended. The discovery of dynamite at the embassy in 1951, linked to an attempted bombing, led to a violent crackdown by the Albanian government.
After the fall of the communist regime, the building has continuously served as the office of the President of Albania.
